ABOUT ME.
BACKGROUND
After leaving the corporate world, Dr. Wachholz chose to create a boutique practice that combined his experience in individual counseling, clinical supervision, people leadership, compassion care, teaching and training, and corporate consultation with people leaders world-wide.

While Tamarack’s doors are open to all adults looking for a safe space, Dr. Wachholz’s professional focus is helping the helpers. His practice is ideal for: teachers, parents, therapists, nurses, doctors, veterinarians, first responders, care takers, people leaders, or anybody who gives their life to others.

When selecting a clinician, it is important to know what experience and training they have. Dr Wachholz's prior experience spans many different levels of care and treatment settings.
CORPORATE EXPERIENCE &
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE
Most recently, Dr. Wachholz was an internal EAP Consultant at Medtronic, providing support and guidance to people leaders and their teams around the world. His experiences at Medtronic included supporting employees and their families through crisis management outside of the business environment including natural disasters, wars and civil unrest.
Within the corporate space, he developed and led global corporate trainings on topics such as: change management, grief and loss, reduction-in-force, burnout and compassion fatigue. Lastly, he was an individual point of contact for any of the 90,000+ global Medtronic employees looking for mental health and work-life resources.

Dr. Wachholz currently holds a contract with CuraLinc Healthcare as an onsite employee assistance professional for Solventum (formerly 3M), at a local manufacturing facility.
CLINICAL & LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
Prior to Medtronic, Dr. Wachholz was a Clinical Lead and Training Director at Mental Health Systems, a community mental health center with five locations across the Twin Cities metro area. During his 15-year tenure as a clinician at MHS, he provided individual therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to adolescents and adults with severe and persistent mental illness diagnoses. In addition, he served as a people leader and clinical supervisor of graduate students and staff for 10 years. Within the scope of his leadership responsibility, Dr. Wachholz oversaw the training and development of hundreds of clinical staff and graduate students. As Training Director he developed an APA-accredited doctoral training program, welcoming doctoral interns from across the country.
